Epanome is a town twenty miles south of the White Tower in Thessaloniki. It is there that Saint Argyrios lived and was martyred by the Hagarenes, who could not accept that he would not worship false gods as true and refused to betray Christ until the end.
His example is an excellent example of bravery and strong faith. His example is worthwhile emulating. Especially our young adults will appreciate learning about him.
