You have probably heard Greeks or other Orthodox people talk about "Vasilopita."
What is that, Vasilopita?
It's a seventeen-centuries-old tradition that goes back to the first true philanthropist, Saint Basil the Great!
St. Basil saved his people from the emperor's greed. The saint's solution for returning their wealth lives on in our tradition of the Vasilopita.
