by Eugenia Scarvelis Constantinou, PhD

The Book of Revelation, known as the Apocalypse in Greek, is often treated as a roadmap to the events of the end times. But what if the key to unlocking its meaning lies in its literary, historical, and ecclesiastical context? In The Apocalypse in the Early Church: Understanding Revelation Then & Now, Dr. Jeannie Constantinou draws back the Apocalypse’s mysterious veil to reveal the fascinating story of Revelation’s acceptance and rejection in the early Church. By exploring the unique literary style and worldview of apocalyptic literature, questions of authorship, the misuse and abuse of Revelation’s message, and its triumphant admission into the New Testament canon, readers will acquire a deeper understanding of this prophetic book from one of Orthodoxy’s most trusted biblical scholars.
