Apostle Peter Icon - S105
Apostle Peter Icon - S105
Description
Saints Peter and Paul are celebrated together as the Holy and Glorious Leaders of the Apostles. Saint Peter was a zealous follower of Christ and was the first to confess His Divinity. While the Apostle denied Christ after His arrest, the Lord forgave him after His Resurrection. After Pentecost, he preached in Judea, Antioch, and Asia, and wrote two of the Catholic Epistles found in the New Testament. He was crucified upside-down in Rome about the year 67. His feast is celebrated on June 29.
