In the historical pantheon of great Christian teachers and thinkers and spiritual masters, St. Maximus the Confessor is not as widely known to the general reader as such luminaries as St. Augustine or St. Thomas Aquinas. The symposium drew thirty of the most eminent scholars in patristics, historical and systematic theology, Byzantine studies, philosophy, literature and related fields to produce a “theological bouquet” of 30 studies on various aspects of the thought of St. Maximus.The book brings together Demetrios Bathrellos, Paul Blowers, David Bradshaw, Adam Cooper, Brian Daley, Paul Gavrilyuk, Atanasije Jevtić, Joshua Lollar, Andrew Louth, John Panteleimon Manoussakis, Maximos Constas, Pascal Mueller-Jourdan, George Parsenios, Christos Yannaras, John Zizioulas and many other thinkers.
