Papercutting is an ancient art dating back to the 6th century "Six Dynasties" period in China, and during the Middle Ages spread to the Middle East. It involves cutting a single piece of paper to form intricate designs or illustrations. These particular images come from award-winning contemporary papercutting artist, Nikki McClure, who frequently uses her work to fund charitable organizations, now including St. Michael's Skete in Alaska. Your purchase of these unique and beautiful cards provides much-needed income to our brother monks in rural Alaska. The interior of the cards is blank.
