Purchasing plants that are grown in Alberta—especially those produced close to Calgary—offers a significant advantage: these plants are already acclimated to our unique climate and weather conditions. Alberta-grown plants are typically hardier, healthier, and longer-lasting, which is a considerable benefit for Pascha.  Visit their website – Grozone Greenhouse Ltd.

The scent is heavenly, and although most Calgarians will never see the unique and intricately cultivated tropical environment where many of these plants begin their lives (as this greenhouse is not open to the public), you can take comfort in knowing that GroZone plants are grown to the highest standards.

Rather than purchasing Pascha plants from retail stores, a local grower has been approached to assist the Orthodox churches in the Calgary area by offering plants at wholesale pricing for Pascha. To make this possible, a central purchaser was required, and St Nicholas Orthodox Books has agreed to act as the agent for this initiative.

Wholesale Pricing

(from GroZone Greenhouse Ltd., High River, Alberta)

• 6” Easter Hydrangeas – $11.55 each
• 6” Easter Lilies – $6.42 each
• 6” Senetti Plants – $6.71 each

Prices do not include GST.

Delivery is included provided the plants are delivered to one central location in Calgary, which will be determined closer to the delivery date. If a church’s order is large enough (as determined by GroZone), delivery may be made directly to the church. Smaller, individual deliveries may incur an additional delivery charge.

Churches may also choose to purchase additional plants for use as a fundraiser.

Important Dates

• Great Lent begins: February 23, 2026
• Orthodox Pascha: April 12, 2026
• Plant delivery: April 7 or 8, 2026 (the week following Latin Pascha)

Early ordering is essential, as GroZone must plan production well in advance. Purchasing directly from a local grower ensures plants are fresh, healthy, and not subjected to repeated handling common in retail settings.
